Internal Resistance: What Actually Happens When You Put Your Goals On A Pedestal

In today’s video I want to share with you what happens when you put your goals on a pedestal, and why there’s so much resistance to achieving them.

This is the primary reason why there are so many invisible walls that hold you back from building that business, getting into great shape or having a fulfilling relationship. Sometimes, people refer to this as “self-sabotage”.

Call it whatever you want, this “resistance” just like anything awesome in your life, is all self created.

How?

Here’s a demonstration:

  1. Imagine a ball being balanced on a pin
  2. Imagine the same ball being balanced on a flat surface

 

In which of these scenarios is the ball more stable? 2 is the correct answer.

This same phenomenon occurs with your thought energy. When you put too much meaning on achieving a certain revenue level in your business, and month after month you inch closer and closer…but can’t quite hit it…that’s what happens when you create an unstable equilibrium using your thought energy.

Why is it that you aren’t able to rest at that 10-20k a month but others are effortlessly making that in the first week of the month? They are “resting” at the equilibrium. Their thought energy isn’t putting the goal on a pedestal.

quasi here and in this video i want to
share with you why it’s so difficult for
you to achieve your goals
and why there’s so much friction and why
you keep moving two steps forward and
one step back and then
two steps forwards and then three steps
back and why this pattern keeps
happening over and over again
if you’re a business owner you know if
you have trouble in your relationships
if you have trouble in
you know health or any area of your life
and you just see that there’s too much
resistance
you know it’s just the same patterns
keep happening or you get inconsistent
results you do achieve it
but then you can’t maintain that revenue
level you can’t
you know keep that relationship you
always jump from one to another
this video is going to be crucial for
you because i’m going to show you this
diagram which explains to you why
there’s so much resistance and how you
put too much meaning onto things that
don’t really need that much meaning in
the first place
and by the end of this video i’m going
to show you the effortless smooth way
how to maintain your state so that you
cruise through it
and attract your goals rather than
having to chase them and pursue them so
hard

i want to talk to you about the concept
of
excessive potentials and putting too
much meaning on something
and i’m going to demonstrate this to you
via the use of this
diagram okay and it’s going to make a
lot more sense because this is a
very dense topic that most people don’t
understand and understanding how
you are putting too much meaning you’re
heightening the importance of things
that don’t
really require that much importance in
the first place was a big game changer
for me
so what happens is most people when they
think about a goal
this goal is immediately put on a
pedestal and if you put anything on a
pedestal it has no choice but to look
down upon you
okay so think about it this way
if you were to put a significant other a
man or a woman you know that you’re
attracted to on a pedestal
they will have no choice but to look
down upon you and basically control you
like a puppet you would be a puppet to
every single word they said
right so it’s kind of like a
relationship between a celebrity and a
fan
okay um if a fan approaches a celebrity
they look at them in admiration
the celebrity has no choice but to look
down upon the fan right it’s just how
the dynamic has been set
so just like that when you put your
goals on a pedestal instead of just
assuming them easy achievable and in the
bag
you know then your goals are going to
look down upon you and become
unattainable okay so this is what most
people do the biggest mistake they make
is they put too much meaning onto a goal
they look at them as not worthy of the
goal the goal to be much bigger
instead of looking at them as equals
okay so when you do that when you have
things certain things in your life in
content of your thought and you put too
much meaning on one thing compared to
the other
what you do is you create an imbalance
in the field of nature
okay if you imagine nature as a field
you know let’s say the field of thoughts
right when you put too much you
put too much thought energy on one thing
it becomes too concentrated
and this creates an inhomogeneity a sort
of imbalance in this field
this field was originally homogeneous
right
so if we were to describe this field
let’s say the lines were like this but
then when you come to this thought
it becomes too bunched up because now
you’re putting too much meaning on to it
when this happens nature wants to
re-establish balance
okay nature is a perfect system it will
want to come in and re-establish this
balance
and how does it do it well in the case
of relationships it takes the path of
least resistance okay
life will always take the path of least
resistance to
establish this this balance in nature so
you know if you’re attracted to a
partner you put them on a pedestal the
easiest thing the path of least
resistance
nature would take is to take this person
father and father and make them
more unattainable right so this is you
create this imbalance through your
thought energy that you’re attributing
to the things in your life
just like your goals when you put your
too much importance on a goal
you just take it farther and farther
away from you you know if you keep
looking up to a goal put on a pedestal
and keep thinking about it every single
then you put too much meaning onto it
then that goal will just always there
will always be a distance between you
and the goal
that’s how nature establishes this
balance now you might be thinking well
why doesn’t nature just give me the goal
if it’s the easiest way to you know
recreate this balance
well it’s not it’s not the path of least
resistance nature always takes the path
of least resistance so more often than
not
it’s taking the goal farther and farther
away from you
so i realized this you know when i
started to look at
our business right so if i look at my
business you know
the days we hit the most revenue do 10
000 in a day
uh this happened recently was when i
just didn’t even look at the accounts
you know for the whole day i stopped
worrying about it i just completely
forgot about it and i just
you know towards the end of the day
after work i just hung out with my wife
and next day i come in i checked the
accounts it’s like 10
000. and our program coach you know the
sales guy he closed ten thousand worth
of new deals
how did he do that like you know it just
doesn’t make sense
so that’s how this works when you let go
of it when you stop
bunching up so much potential onto it
that’s what happens
you let go of how much meaning you put
onto it now there is space
now nature can take the path that you
wanted it to take
align with yourself because you’re not
busy resisting it
okay so when you put too much meaning
onto something
you create resistance you create a
distance between it according to the
path of least resistance
and this distance will always be there
between you and your goals
until you learn to see that you and your
goals are just one
you don’t see your goals as one you see
them as this is me and this is my goal
i have to do something to achieve my
goal i have to have something to achieve
my goal
once you start seeing that i am the goal
you become the goal you you align
completely to the goal
there’s no longer a separation between
that once you internally be
that ideal self then the material it’s
just a matter of time for the material
to rearrange itself to
show you your goals right it’s as simple
as that but we just make it really
complex
so this brings me to another concept i
learned from ancient yoga
this is the concept of vairagya nabyasa
and the ancient
sage patanjali who wrote the yoga sutras
from which all of the modern forms of
yoga have been derived
he said that in order to be successful
in any path with yoga or any any path in
general
there needs to be a balance between
which literally means effort and
surrender okay
because you might be thinking well quasi
how do i now
achieve this sweet spot you know how do
i
have a goal without putting too much
importance in it or the first
and best thing to do is not to have a
goal in the first place then there is no
importance there is no resistance right
but if you must have a goal
the best way to do it is to learn your
internal state how do you feel about it
how do you relate to this goal
if your goal is to hit 10 000 a month in
your business how important is that goal
to you
is it really important can you let go of
it
is it okay if this month you don’t hit
10k if it is then it will happen
the likelihood of it happening is higher
and why this happens
is when you build up too much meaning on
something
you create this instability as we
mentioned right
it’s kind of like if i were to put a
ball up here let’s say you imagine this
hill
and a singular point in the hill and you
put the ball up here
it’s at an unstable equilibrium okay the
ball is
at an unstable equilibrium
now the ball if there’s any disturbance
will tip and go to stable equilibrium
that’s what it wants to do that’s what
nature wants to do
okay the nature wants to take this ball
from this unstable equilibrium to a
stable equilibrium that’s why it strives
to create that balance how does it do it
by keeping you away from your goals
when you put too much meaning on it this
is the likelihood of you achieving your
goals
the likelihood of you achieving your
goals is
the likelihood of this ball staying up
in this hill
held up by a single pin right
so if you want to increase the
probability of you going towards your
goals
you all you need to do 80 of the work is
done and decreasing
all of the resistance and all the
meaning that you attach to it
you let go of insisting on the goal
but you work towards it anyways so it’s
all about
working towards it becoming process
oriented not results oriented

that out but once you become process
oriented
you get into this flow state you’re no
longer concerned with what the results
are
you just put your head down and you get
to work the most
successful clients that we’ve seen from
our program
are the ones who’ve been able to do this
they’ve just gone dark
you know from social media from
everywhere
and they’ve just been in the group
they’ve just been applying all of the
all the concepts and the teachings from
the program and
they learned to attain the state of
focus on the process
and using the results as an indicator
not as something that
you know they need to worry about or
change their emotional state over
and when they once they did that they
put their head down and got to work
the moment you lift up your head after a
few months your world just changes
you start to look at the reflection
again everything changes
okay so this is basically what happens
when you get into this process oriented
haze you forget about the results
but once you forget about it all the
resistance to the results is gone
now life paves the path for you to
achieve those okay
so this is learning how to balance your
effort and surrender i’m sorry i wish i
could make this much simpler
but this is something you have to figure
out within yourself
you have to see how you relate to your
goals when you think about hitting that
10k
what do you think about hitting that 20k
how does it feel
does it feel really important if it does
then
we can work with something okay so now i
want to share with you
when your goals are too important what
to do and how to reduce this importance
how to reduce this meaning
key number one whenever you feel this
this pull towards your girls and you
feel that oh it’s too important
it’s resting on that hill it’s too it’s
got to happen it’s at that unstable
equilibrium
that’s when you know your importance
level is too high key number one what
you can do is you can just consciously
reduce importance
for a lot of your goals you can just do
that you can just consciously reduce
all the meaning you attribute to it for
example if you’re focusing on business
right now
and then you’re like oh i really want to
have a great relationship you can just
reduce the importance of that
you can make the intention pure
intention
great relationship i am in one what is
the state
of me being in this ideal relationship
embody that
and then you can just let that go you
can forget all about it next thing you
know you meet someone a lot of the times
this has happened to people who’ve been
working on business a lot of our clients
you know people like trey’s grown his
business from you know
10 15k a month now hitting his first
100k month
and in the journey he found his ideal
partner
right but only when he let go of that he
wasn’t expecting it to happen
okay when that happened when his
importance level reduced
that’s when he you know the the
situation happened the resistance
the wars fell and now life could allow
this
he could allow this to happen okay
that’s key number one for a lot of the
things in your life you can just
consciously reduce importance
you know a lot of people think that oh
you know i have so many great ideas how
do i focus on one how do i focus on one
get rid of the ones that don’t matter
you’re going to have all of these
thoughts and distractions it’s a
distraction until it’s proven useful
just like all the apps and the social
media apps you’re seeing right so
the one thought that is persistent it
keeps coming up over and over again
and keeps persisting with time that’s
the one you’ve got to focus on
so next time you have a thought just
give it some time to marinate before you
act on it
you know you’re going to get all of
these thoughts throughout the day it’s
the one that that’s persistent over
months and years
that’s the one you’ve got to act on
because there’s just no way to get rid
of it
so just like your goals you can get rid
of most of them most of them aren’t even
important it’s just little whims that
you have
right number one number two
if that’s not possible sometimes your
goals are you know
it’s that way it’s it’s that one
persistent thought you just can’t get
rid of it
if that’s not possible and it’s too
important it’s got to happen
in the moment of it you know you can’t
reduce your fear you’re too afraid
you’re walking
that tightrope life’s too hard you’re in
a sticky situation
you know you’ve got bills coming in
you’ve got nowhere to go
and you need to make money that getting
that client is important
the only thing you can do then because
this isn’t going to work you can
try to tell yourself oh just reduce this
importance reduce it it’s not going to
work
the only thing to do then is just to
change your relationship to that emotion
i’m going to write that down before i
explain what it means change your
relationship
to that emotion essentially when you
have that feeling of fear that you just
can’t shake off
that worry you can’t shake off
what to do allow it to be
simply change how you relate to that
emotion because what happens is
when you learn this and consciously
reducing your importance
you’re like okay now i just got to get
rid of that importance and you force
everything you force every single door
to you know you force your way through
the door instead of prying it open
what you’ve got to do is see how you’re
relating to this
fear right you have the fear but you’re
like
i don’t want this fear you have fear of
having
fear it becomes this self-reflexive
cycle you have a fear of a fear and then
you develop a fear of a fear of a fear
and then it compounds to the power of
100 million
and it doesn’t need to happen so you
catch it
just as you’re about to have this
attitude to this fear you know you have
fear
and then you have fear of fear you catch
it right here
you catch it right there and you allow
that fear to be
if you feel fearful of your situation
right now you’re uncertain
you don’t know what to do you don’t know
if you’re going to be successful
you don’t know if this is going to work
or not that uncertainty
that fear change your relationship to it
just let that be
allow it to be allow
when you do this something crazy happens
all of a sudden all of those walls you
built up of resistance
fall down anyways okay but now
your intention starts to work its magic
whenever you have an intention
it is most often clouded by desire
desire itself is excessive potential
when you have a desire you immediately
create a separation between you and the
goal right you’re like i’m here and i
desire this
i’m here and i desire this intention so
i’m gonna i’m gonna describe this
this is what desire creates desire
creates a separation between your
current
and desired
aka object of desire what intention is
is the focus on the movement towards
desired intention is to focus on this
desire is the focus
on these on this separation okay
intention is when you put your head down
and get into that process oriented haze
and you just get to work
intention is when you assume that the
desire has already happened
right but you just focus on the movement
you just focus on putting your head down
and get to work
it’s as simple as that i made a lot of

this is the most powerful thing you can
do allow that
feeling to just be without changing it
without trying to change it without
trying to alter it
that’s the surrender process i talk
about this a lot in the channel
but if you understand that you have a
desire
and then the moment you start to act on
that desire
whether this be in physical action
or in your resoluteness to have
you immediately transmute that desire
into intention
the lingering desire that always remains
needs to be dealt with
and that’s how you do it you allow all
the fears all of the desires to just be
okay and that’s how you get rid of that
last bit of excessive
importance and you just skyrocket
towards your goals

stable equilibrium that’s where life
wants to take it
so life will take the path of least
resistance to take it to its stable
equilibrium
so with respect to your goals it could
look like
always keeping you near the goal almost
achieving it but not quite
having you achieving it but not keeping
it
this is what happened to me and
constantly checking our accounts
as soon as i let go of it everything
goes well
and the key principle here is learning
to balance your effort with surrender
when you take action it sometimes builds
desire
when you have desire you can even
transmute it to action it becomes
like a self you know it feeds into each
other
right action and desire intention desire
they both feed into each other
but what you can do is learn how to
surrender when you have too much
importance it’s it’s
it’s good to get rid of that waste and
how we do that is through the two keys
number one consciously reducing
importance
99 of your whims your daily whims that
you have you can constantly brush them
off
okay but the ones you can’t you’ve got
to change your relationship to them
instead of going deeper and deeper into
the cycle of fear
fearing the fear and fear of the fear of
the fear
allow that fear to be whatever you’re
afraid of whatever situation you’re in
right now
don’t try to change it just allow it to
be
you don’t even have to focus on having
an intention
it’s just there your intention is there
was always there the moment you set foot
on this journey
